meet your host, Kristen

I became a dietitian because food is what keeps us alive and connects us. Food is something everyone has to think about, naturally. I love the art of growing and preparing food and the science of nutrition. The more I’ve learned about food and what a healthy relationship with it looks like, the more comfortable I’ve become sharing information with others who may be confused by or weary from the messages of diet culture. I am passionate about the enjoyment of food, without the control it so easily can have over us if we’re not careful. I’m here to help you simplify AND diversify your menus so you can eat with more ease and stay nourished.

I love being a dietitian, but it’s not everything. Food should fuel us so we can continue living. Chasing what matters. Whether it’s pursuing the job or relationships you desire or your passions. If you’re a nature lover, you might have an overwhelming urge to be up close with the seasons as they change. To go somewhere vast to feel small. My reaction to a hard work week is to get in the car and drive to the nearest state park or trail to soak upppp all the nature. A big part of my own depression and obsessive compulsive disorder recovery has been reconnecting with my values. I will always encourage people to go outside. I’ve cried on trails before, and that’s okay. Your happy place can handle some sadness. Healing isn’t linear. We just do the best we can.

Ready to fuel up, figure out what matters, and go?

I’m here with ya.
